‘Spinning is the wonderful traditional skill of turning fibre, such as sheep’s wool, into useable yarn. It is also a fantastically calm, meditative and mindful pastime.
In this class you will learn to use a spinning wheel. You will learn to treadle the wheel, draft fibre and spin it to fill a bobbin. You will also find out about how a spinning wheel works and the fascinating historic names of the different parts and associated tools, you will know your niddy noddy from your Lazy Kate! ‘
Wheels and fibre will be provided alongside a 30 minute restful break to enjoy a buffet provided for you by us here at KNL
All Knitting Needle Lane workshops are based in Cambridge CB1 area – where there is space for 4 people on each course – leaving you plenty of room to breathe . Once booked you will receive a confirmation email. There is plenty of FREE onsite parking. Each workshop booked will receive a KNL goodie bag with all the equipment that you will need to complete the course. We aim to provide you with a calm and mindful space so that your creative juices can flow ! There will also be a chance to browse KNL goodies after/before each workshop.
