About the Course

Come and join in Charlotte’s ceramics classes from her fully equipped pottery studio in Westbourne, Bournemouth, Dorset.

In this 12 week course Charlotte will take you through all the hand building techniques as well as decoration techniques and is an ideal introduction to working with clay. There will also be an opportunity to use the potters wheel.

The courses run on a Tuesday 18.00-21.00 or Thursday 10.00-13.00 or 18.00-21.00.

Charlotte can support all aspects of ceramics from sculpture, hand building, throwing, mold making and glaze mixing. So if you have some experience you can also come an refine your skills. With only 5 in a group, there is plenty of opportunity to support individual projects.

Charlotte’s Westbourne based pottery studio is located between Poole and Bournemouth and is a busy town with lots to offer. The studio is within easy reach of local car parking, public transport and local amenities including a variety of shops, cafe’s and restaurants.

Charlotte graduated in 2000 from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BA hons in Contemporary Crafts, Ceramics and Textiles. After a years Artist in Residence she then completed her PGCE in Post Compulsory Education at Greenwich University. Since then she has taught on a variety of courses and workshops including City and Guilds, Btec short courses in Ceramics, National Diploma in Art and Design and a degree in Applied Art.
