Description
Bookbinding from scratch is suitable for beginners, but will also include more challenging book structures for any with previous bookbinding experience. Any special projects in mind? Laura West (Isle of Skye Bindery) is happy to guide you in using the correct structure to 'make it happen.' Book Repair is also taught, with new materials and techniques to be explored. Both Laura and her assistant will be on hand to help you in restoring and stabilising your favourite books. Numbers will be limited to ensure as much one-to-one tuition as possible.
What's included in the price?
Comprehensive course notes and all materials are provided for any set projects and all tools are available to use during the workshop. Lunch will be in the Olive Tree Café at the Steading. Coffee, tea and biscuits are available throughout the day. Accommodation can be provided.

The Cafe take our lunch orders every morning and have a wide choice of soups and sandwiches.
The course is designed for beginners and improvers - many students return each year to build on their previous knowledge and to undertake new projects with help from Laura and Chris.
Please bring an apron, notebook and pencil. Laura will provide everything else that you need but please bring any tools and materials that you have, and like to work with.
