About the Course
Bookbinding from Scratch is suitable for beginners, but will also include more challenging book structures for any with previous bookbinding experience.
Any special projects in mind? Laura West (Isle of Skye Bindery) is happy to guide you in using the correct structure to 'make it happen.'
Book Repair is also taught, with new materials and techniques to be explored. Both Laura and her assistant will be on hand to help you in restoring and stabilising your favourite books.
These two courses run simultaneously since 2 lecturers will be on hand. Numbers will be limited to ensure as much one-to-one tuition as possible.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Comprehensive course notes and all materials are provided for any set projects and all tools are available to use during the workshop.
Lunch will be in the Olive Tree Café at the Steading. Coffee, tea and biscuits are available throughout the day.
Accommodation can be provided.
