About the Course

Beginning in book binding Long stitch variations – some book making experience needed.
Your tutor for this course is Somerset based artist Nina Gronw-Lewis MA . Nina been making artists’ books alongside her sculpture for over 10 years. Artists’ books are books made or conceived by artists. Books that maintain the traditional structure of a book are often known as book art or bookworks, while those that reference the shape of a book are known as book objects.
During this workshop participants learn to make two different versions of this bookbinding technique which features attractive exposed stitching on the spine of the book. Participants will learn core bookbinding skills of folding, cutting and sewing, and take home their two handmade books and the skills to make more with minimal equipment.
