This lace making session offers you the opportunity to start making a wide rang of Lace Decorations for Christmas, either to hang upon a Christmas Tree, Bower, Windows, or anywhere else in the home to create a warmer personal season feel and cheer.
The photographs displayed for this Lace Session have all been made by Tina over many years and represent a wide range of Lace Types & Skill Levels. Therefore it may be advisable to contact 'the tutor', prior to booking, to ensure that your aspirations are achievable. Also a number of decorations, made within rings, were from 'Springett' kits and if you are interested in making those, it may be wise to contact them in advance to ensure that the kit is still available (by referring to their website;- www.CDSpringett.co.uk) and of course they may have others that also catch your attention or imagination.
Tina presented the 3D bird to NT Standen, as part of their 'Winter Tree of Hope' with bright and colourful displays of craft laden Xmas Trees in the courtyard to symbolise hope and community spirit.
Tina has passed her City and Guilds teaching qualification and in 2019 she was engaged by Pinewood Studios to make lace and teach the actresses for the filming of the BBC Black Narcissus series.
Bobbin Lace is a traditional heritage craft, which will be taught by an enthusiastic lace maker of 28 yrs experience and Tina can advise on other follow-on courses that she runs at a number of location within Surrey and their availability, to help extend your Experience & Skills.
If you have any questions do please get in touch for more information.
Tina also loves the challenges of experimenting with different threads, using colour to reflect nature, adapting designs for modern use, and loves encouraging others to take-up Lace making as a rewarding hobby, that many find calming, mindful, relaxing and therapeutic.
Tina provides hands-on help during sessions and is also happy to provide complementary telephone & email support between classes to all her students. In 2020 she guided a student through the Lace Guild Torchon Lace Assessment and is equally willing to do this for others who may be interested.
Tina has covid procedures and protocols in place and is willing to share these with anyone interested in booking this course.
