About the Course

On this residential week long course you'll learn the fundamentals of boatbuilding as we work to build two rowing boats. Over the week, with a group of 6 people, we will build two lightweight plywood rowing boats from start to finish, before launching them to see how they work.

The boat is built with traditional techniques, so we’ll spend a lot of time with hand planes, getting our heads around bevels and changing angles. It's a great chance to learn woodworking skills as well as to gain an understanding of traditional and contemporary boatbuilding.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

All accommodation and food is included - we are hosted by local people in their own homes on the wonderful and wild Scoraig peninsula and will eat shared meals together. We take a day off in the middle of the week for rest and exploration.
