About the Course

As part of our commitment towards broadening the reach of traditional craft, and creating discussion around the role it can play in society, we are offering this special week in our programme as an artist residency. This is a unique opportunity to discover and explore the traditional techniques and materials of boatbuilding, and to refresh your practice in a beautiful location.

As with our core residential boatbuilding course, we will build one Caravelle rowing skiff as a group. Participants will take part in the running of the week, helping with cooking and managing the space.

The fee is significantly reduced for the week to make it as accessible as possible. Places are open to practicing artists of any discipline.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

The fee includes all tuition, materials and tools you'll need to build a boat. Accommodation and food is also included.
