About the Course
Blacksmithing taster day course at Lincoln Castle.
Have you ever wondered about working a forge?
This one day taster course will teach students basic forge work techniques. You will make items such as letter openers and fireside tools. Skills you'll learn include, fire maintenance, splitting, leaf work, forming curves on the anvil beak, punching and riveting.
Students must wear clothing made from natural, none flammable fibres and suitable footwear, ideally steel toe cap. Safety goggles and leather aprons will be supplied. Suitable for ages 16 +
