A new two day introduction to screen printing, covering traditional and experimental techniques.
On Day One you will learn the basics in screen printing, using small screens and thermofax before moving on to create a two or three colour tonal design using the larger screens. You will learn how to mix inks and register a multicolour design.
On Day Two you will be introduced to further experimental techniques, including monoprinting with screens and working with positive stencils. In the afternoon you will complete your final two colour design.
You will leave with… three tonal prints and five two-colour prints on paper, as well as your experimental papers. You will have the skills to keep printing at home or at Print Club.

Came with my teenage daughter as she's a very keen artist. This course was informative and fun and we felt well catered to. I got a lot out of it and I know my daughter did too. Will keep an eye on new courses as we'd love to come again - more teenage options please!
I had such a lovely time with Ruth. She is very patient and made sure we all knew what we were doing. I might need to practice a little more, but overall I'm thrilled with what we achieved in such a short space of time.
Booked this class quite last minute as it's just down the road from me. Easy to find, great parking. Coffee and cake provided. It felt like a long day as there was so much to learn, but a nice packed lunch around the farm pond was a nice break halfway through. I'm going to transfer these screen printing skills onto fabric. I will definitely keep an eye out for future classes.
had been looking forward to this class for ages as it was fully booked last time. Had a great time, perfecting my screen printing technique. I actually really enjoyed using the small thermofax screens, even though I was most looking forward to the main larger screens. Scrummy cakes too.
A whole day dedicated to screen printing - what a great day! Excellent and friendly teaching and I left with five perfect prints on paper, and had also tried smaller screens in the morning. The barn was very warm and a great space to work!
Fun day screen printing at Slamseys. Learned a new skills, tried several different techniques and went home with a range of my prints and design. Highly recommend and hope to learn to print on fabric next with Ruth.
I really enjoyed the screen printing workshop at Slamseys. Seeing my design go from a pencil drawing to a finished print was great! The venue is lovely on a working farm and the Blackberry Cake was so delicious, I'd come back again just for the cake!
