About the Course
If you've thought about having a go at Free Motion Machine Embroidery but not known where to start, this is the class for you. During this 3 hour class I'll guide you through some basic skills that will get you started on this absorbing technique. At the end of the session you will have a good basic knowledge of the process and something decorative to take home with you. My teaching style is relaxed which enables you to bring along your own ideas to work on or turn up and work on something on the day.
This class is bookable on demand either as a one-to-one session or as a group session for up to 4 people. For more information visit my website. For enquiries and to book a date either contact me through my website or by email.

Sue Nicolls is a lovely lady and the course was just brilliant. It was informal, in a lovely setting and very informative. I learnt the basics of machine embroidery plus, I feel, some more intermediate techniques - certainly enough for me to now practice and experiment on my own. Apart from the practical elements, I also learnt about the sewing machine attachments/set up, threads, fabrics, equipment etc needed for machine embroidery with advice on where to purchase them from. I was very pleased with the work that I produced - Sue's help & guidance has given me confidence to expand on what I learnt. She certainly is one talented lady as her log cabin is full of her very creative and stunning pieces; and work in progress. It was also good to discuss a subject we are both very passionate about. I would certainly recommend Sue and her course/s. Her husband makes very good tea too!
Sonia Galan - - #14383
This was my fourth session with Sue and the opportunity to try something new. As always Sue's clear explanations and demonstrations gave me the confidence to tackle new materials and techniques. To come away with a completed wreath was a real sense of achievement and the fact that my friend and I chose completely different styles is a further tribute to Sue.
If you want to escape for a few hours of creativity this is the course to try!
Jane Guy - - #11784
Anyone who loves sewing and crafty things will fall in love with Sue's studio and all the bits and bobs she has there - let alone the marvellous display of her creative skills. And as for the course - it was fantastic. Sue is a great teacher - clear in her instructions and so patient and ready to help with advice. Through her I managed to overcome my fear of free motion machine embroidery and produce a lovely wreath which is proudly hanging in my sewing room prior to be on display for Christmas. We have already signed up to another course in January and if you live in the Buntingford area in Hertfordshire and want to increase your craft skills then I urge you to get in touch with Sue and you will have a great, creative time.
