About the Course

This life drawing class is ideal for beginners as well as improvers.
Working directly from the model, you be given a series of 'quickfire' drawing exercises which lead to longer studies. You will be taught by an experienced drawing tutor who will guide you through a series of exercises to gain an understanding of volume, values, proportions, texture and developing mark making.

Who is this course for
This course is suitable for beginners and improvers: come and try out our beautiful drawing studio and focus on life drawing for a couple of evenings in a supportive and freindly enviroment.

What does this course cover
Students will work with a life model on both sessions and will explore mark making as well as gain an understanding of :basic proportions, volume, proportion, composition, measuring, texture and tone.

What will it be like
There will be tutor demonstrations, one to one instruction, group instruction, visual references and a presentation of 2 x 5 minute art history videos.

Teaching methods: Visual demonstration and verbal explanation. Written handouts with visual diagrams. One-to-one teaching. Group discussions.
Learning methods: Hands-on practical activities, Reading handouts and following instructions.
One-to-one and group discussion.
Questions and answers during group discussions and one-to-one teaching.
Record students' progress and achievement on an assessment sheet as they achieve the course objectives.
Practical work produced is evidence of learning.

What else do you need to buy or do
Basic paper is provided and specialist paper will be available to purchase in the class. Drawing boards and other materials will be provided. Students are welcome to bring their own materials.
