Beginner's knitting - Saturday skills class, York


Discover the joy of knitting, starting with the basic skills. This class covers casting on, creating knit and purl stitches, garter and stocking stitch, how to increase and decrease and casting off. We will also explore how these techniques can be used to make scarves, hand warmers or hats and how to read basic patterns.

The class is taught by knitwear designer, Fiona Drake

Level: For absolute beginners or people in need of a refresher of the basics.

Classes are individually priced & include the tools to use in class and all materials, unless otherwise indicated.

This is one of our short up-skill and new-skill classes. We also host all-day Heritage Workshops which explore the history as well as the skills of different crafts.

Our classes cover knitting, crochet, rag-rugging, embroidery, macramé, needle-felting, shisha mirror work, goldwork, Kumihimo braiding, appliqué and traditional mohair teddy bear making. For details on these classes click 'More from this Marker'.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
