About the Course
This course runsMonday to Friday from 10am until 5pm.
On this course you will spend two days forging a knife and will be working with 1075 steel. On the first day between 10 am and 2pm approx you will be forging the knife. After lunch (one hour), you will start shaping the knife on the grinder.
Whether it be a full tang or hidden tang that you forge, you will draw out the shape of the particular knife (which I have templates for) or you can bring your own design. You will use a grinder to remove the stock, shape and sharpen the blade, this will then be heated in the forge for 3 cycles to soften the metal.
The next day will be spent finishing off the knife when you will attach either a wooden or antler handle. You will also make a leather sheath for the knife on the second day.
If cancelled at anytime the £50 deposit is not refundable. The same terms apply to gift vouchers. So if you cancel on the day then the deposit is lost. Alternative bookings can be taken depending upon availability.
