From week 2 we look at using and altering commercial patterns, and the construction of your skirt which you will complete over the remaining sessions.
We will cover;
Seam types and finishing, Hemming, Fitting, Inserting Zip, Buttonholes, 'Stitch in the ditch'
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Refreshments will be provided for all sessions. Evening classes include a glass of wine.
All materials will be provided for the first session but you will need to bring fabric for the second session to make your skirt - details will be discussed in the first week. We do have a small selection of fabrics available to purchase from the studio for £10.
Sewing machines are available for all students, however feel free to bring your own machine if you prefer.
The dressmaking course is fantastic with Rachel giving such clear and useful advice throughout. I was particularly delighted to learn how to adapt patterns to fit me exactly and came away with my lovely skirt, a pattern fitted to me that I will use many times and skills that I will continue to use. Thank you Craft my Day!
Looking forward to seeing you at the dress and trouser sessions.
