About the Course

This one-day Course is designed for people or organisations with an interest in using beekeeping and honey and beeswax trade to alleviate poverty. This is not a hands-on course about bees.
We cover the different species of bees that are utilised world-wide, and introduce a range of topics including:
Apiculture in developing countries and how it can be best utilised to build resilient tlivelihoods;
Problems faced by beekeepers in financially poor countries;
Appropriate and sustainable - issues of technology choice;
The important issues of honey marketing and trade;
Case studies: success stories from around the world.
