There are many things in the natural world that happen too quickly, or too slowly for human eyes to perceive, or are outside our visual spectrum. This course will look at techniques for photographing them. The course will include: - Ultraviolet reflectance photography - Ultraviolet fluorescence photography - Infrared photography - High speed photography - Time Lapse photography - Polarised light photography Some of the techniques, such as ultraviolet reflectance photography and infrared, require specialist equipment, and will be demonstrated, whilst others can be carried out with conventional equipment.  About half the time will be spent in the lab, whilst trips to suitable locations will also be arranged. About the Tutor: Adrian Davies Adrian Davies is a freelance nature photographer, lecturer, author and highly experienced course leader. He has written numerous articles and books, including Digital Close-up and Macro Photography (Focal Press), Digital Plant Photography (Bloomsbury Press) (RHS magazine:: “…an informative study that would make an excellent gift for plant photographers of all levels …”), Digital Ultraviolet and Infrared Photography (Focal Press, 2018) and Photographing the Unseen, pub. 2022 What to Bring - Camera (a normal cameras can be used for the time-based and UV fluorescence photography. A converted camera is required for UV reflectance e and IR photography, which will be demonstrated. - Lenses - Flash gun/s if you have them - Spare batteries and charger - Memory cards - Laptop if you have one. About Slapton Ley Please be aware that you are visiting a Field Centre that caters in the main for school parties; the accommodation is basic and dormitory style, but warm and comfortable.
