About the Course
We Will Cover Batik - Using hot wax and adding batik dyes - This will be a fun creative day where you will learn how to use hot wax as a relief to block out areas of cotton fabric using tjanting tools as well as stamps, sponges etc, then we will use the special batik dyes to create your beautiful master piece, you will iron out the wax before you take your piece home.
You will make a piece of wall-art approx 16''x16'' or similar but it could be a different shape and some A5 samples so as you can have a practice before the larger piece. These also look lovely in a frame or on gift cards.
It will be a brilliant day, you really can't go wrong with batik...happy accidents can be great!?

Had a great day under the supportive and knowledgable guidance of Barbara, I can’t believe that I was able to produce such a piece on my first Batik course...I’m going to get it framed. Everything required provided in the course fee + Lunch, cake and drinks all through the day. Would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to explore Batik in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

I had a great introduction to Batik yesterday with Barbara. She was very hospitable and a great teacher. All the materials were provided, along with lunch and great cake. This was a technique I had been wanting to try for a long time. It was great to go home with pieces of work I would actually put up at home. Thank you for a great day Barbara.
