About the Course

Workshop space and tuition available, working on community projects. Based in Matson, Gloucester in the Phoenix centre is a facility that caters for residents with learning difficulties, so adheres to safeguarding DBS procedures.

We are lottery funded to provide a men shed for keen woodworkers and craft enthusiasts to exchange and develop skills . The 10 till 2 Thursday training will cater for beginners to experienced artists.

Requirements are that you are unemployed or economically inactive, and prepared for us to help you find work in these areas, and live in Gloucestershire. The £3 fee covers the cost of this site.

What's included in the price?

We have a 20 feet by 12 feet workshop, with an array of tools, small band saw and various hand power tools. We are presently making xmas houses of pine, it depends on what donated timber, we have, and generally people's ideas. Last month we made 5 feet square tables 4 off for raised beds for wheel chair users, next week we are building a 15 feet by 21 feet and 2 feet high raised bed for a local care home. The jobs vary as we go through the year. We are hoping to build small celtic round houses and large sculptures for a community garden in january 2017. Oh tea coffee and toilets provided.
