About the Course

Aimed at students who are 19 years and over, as beginners would like to learn the basic skills involved in dressmaking. Students would be required to bring a commercial pattern (easy to medium ability), with the required fabric and thread, also if you would like to bring your own sewing machine along to get more hands-on experience in using it, you may do so. Basic sewing skills would be of benefit, we have a beginners guide to the sewing machine which you can join if need be.

Our tutor would guide you through the making process, from laying of the pattern pieces to key construction techniques, such as, how to stitch darts, put in sleeves, sewing zips and adding buttons, resulting in a completed garment. We have a course information sheet if you would like more details, just contact Sue on the details provided.

Our course runs on a Wednesday evening for 5 weeks and is repeated throughout the year.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

Our venue has a car parking area which is on a first come first served basis, we also have a small Coffee Shop for your use, selling hot, cold drinks and snacks.
