About the Course
We are currently looking for a new workshop in the local area and are hoping to move into the workshop in the new year in the local area.
The course Back to Basics is taught by Hattie, she comes from a textile background and has been a sewer for the last 6 years (nearly everyday). She studied Textiles at a GCSE and A-Level standard, and has run her own business since leaving school creating handmade clothing.
The Back to Basics course is for the complete beginner whom may want to start sewing at home and has their own sewing machine, or is thinking of purchasing their own sewing machine.
The course is set up into two parts, the 'set up' stage and the 'project' stage.
The 'set up' stage is the first step this is where Hattie will walk you through the health and safety procedures, and where you will learn how to set up and maintain the machine followed shortly by practicing stitches and a mini sewing machine licence test.
We shall then take a short break for a drink/toilet break where you can prepare for the next stage by selecting your project.
As we come back from our mini break we shall then head straight into the project of your choice, creating a project that you can take home with you. Choices include cushions, tote bags and more.
