A course to celebrate the changing season at Flatford Mill. Pen and Ink, Pen and Wash and Pen and Watercolour are ideal for drawing and painting fruits, flowers, cornfields and autumn trees. Sue will demonstrate to inspire you and show you ideas and techniques to use with pen and wash.

Sue Williams has been a Watercolour tutor for forty years. She writes about painting for art magazines, regularly exhibits in London and in 2013 won The SAA Artist of The Year Competition.
What to Bring
Pens- Pitt pens are ideal. Black or brown, fine and medium nibs
Watersoluble Pen ( if you can find one )Tombo or zig graphic twin. Black or brown. There are lots of colours
Bottle of acrylic ink - FW Sepia is ideal. ( I will have some for you to use)
Watercolours - most boxes of pan colours will have a good selection
Or if you use tube colours the following colours , or equivalents ,are essential
Prussian or Pthalo blue ( such as Winsor blue- red shade )
Very useful but not essential
Viridian or phthalo green ( Winsor green- blue shade)
Perylene green ( Winsor and Newton )
Palette if using tube colours
Watercolour brushes about size 14, 8, 6 , 2
Watercolour paper. Either a couple of sketch books or sheets of paper
Bockingford 140lb (300 gsm) not surface paper or heavier.
Langton sketch books are quite good. About 11 x 14 inches.
A small sketchbook with cartridge paper for notes and quick sketches
Pencils about 2b
I will have bottles of ink and salt and clingfilm, but please bring your own if you wish
