About the Course

Dale Fort is a popular venue for developing digital photographers with all types of cameras – this course is suitable for both compact and DSLR cameras. It provides the perfect opportunity to photograph the superb land and seascapes of Pembrokeshire in autumn. We will look at the controls of cameras to achieve the best from light metering, apertures and shutters. As much time as possible will be spent outdoors although we will look at enhancing images on the computer to maximise their potential. Although some knowledge is useful the course is open to anyone keen to improve on their digital photography. All participants will be provided with a computer and software, and there will be a range of equipment to try.

Course tutor: John Archer-Thomson
For many years John Archer-Thomson was Assistant Head of Centre at FSC Dale Fort. He is now working as a freelance coastal ecologist, writer and photographer and runs a number of courses at Dale Fort each year. He co-wrote Rocky Shores, Volume 7 in Bloomsbury’s British Wildlife Collection.
