Art Workshop inspired by the Engraved Windows of Laurence Whistler

About the Course
Your chance to make art inspired by Sir Laurence Whistler’s exquisite engraved windows including a short tour exploring the windows’ origin and meaning. We will be exploring various art mediums during the day and reflecting in this inspirational space.
No art experience necessary! Just join us for a day of peace and sanctuary in this church, graveyard and local gardens. We will be silent, make art and have insights in the only church in the world with entirely engraved glass. Our creativity will be inspired by some of the themes of the windows: light, hope, the four seasons, transformation and the universe.
There will be plenty of time to observe and sketch, use your imagination and be mindful in these beautiful spaces.
Workshop leader John Harley is a dramatherapist and minister, who has led retreats for the Art and Spirituality network, and been an art teacher for twenty years. He is especially interested in harnessing art making and creative exercises to get in touch with our spiritual and intuitive selves.
In 2018 we have a workshop on 9th June concentrating on Whistler Windows inspired creativity with sketching, Chinese Ink and watercolours.
