About the Course
Constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor will help you succeed during the class.
Discover how art and society developed by looking at paintings in the National Gallery. Two on-site sessions in this admission-free gallery will introduce you to how British cultural values have been represented in art over the centuries.
We will explore how politics and religion, as well as social control, status, and sexuality, imbued the imagery developed from 15th to 19th century. We will also discuss how celebrated masterpieces paved the way to sophisticated forms of manipulation and misrepresentation of reality, still common in modern social media and mass communication.
