About the Course
Tutor Steve Bretel has spent over 15 years as a creative arts facilitator and .fine artist across the UK, after a successful commercial art career in London. Studying widely at Duncan of Jordanstone, Edinburgh college of art, and theatre design in Glasgow, Steve was a professional member of the Society of Industrial Artists & Designers (SIAD) and holds a BA in Visual Communication.
Whether you’ve just been given a paint box as a present, or need some creative confidence to get you started, these progressive classes are for you. The basics will be covered such as choice and use of materials, sketching, drawing and painting using accurate observation with imaginative or semi-abstract approaches. Each class will be fun and supportive with its own theme, using a mixture of demos and instruction, taking inspiration from both man-made and natural subjects

Forgan Arts Centre is rooted in the community and strives to offer educational and cultural opportunities to people of all ages and abilities, in an environment that enriches well-being.
Established in 1978, the Centre offers a wide variety of classes and events to the residents of Newport-On-Tay and surrounding towns and villages.
You don’t have to become a member to attend our classes, however it dramatically reduces the cost of your course and any other classes throughout the year, as well as helping to support the Centre. If you would like to join us, Membership costs £30 for the year and can be purchased at the Centre or under the members tab on our website

What's included in the price?
Some materials provided to start you off, but then suggestions will be given for purchasing your own. Tea and coffee are available at the centre.
