About the Course

This is an introductory workshop for the complete beginner using iron fix paints and steam fix dyes. You will learn about the different types of silk available for painting and Prue will demonstrate how to use Gutta, salt effects and shading techniques. You will start by painting a printed silk card to get a feel for the paint and fabric. You will then practice a design using Gutta and salt techniques on a small panel, followed by painting a larger silk item such as a scarf using steam fix dyes.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

All materials will be provided for and design books will be available for reference. However, if you have something you would particularly like to paint on silk then please bring it along to the workshop.

Afternoon Tea:
A selection of sandwiches, freshly baked scones with jam and cream and cakes together with a pot of tea or coffee. Fruit or herbal teas and decaf options also available.
