About the Course

Discover the art of handmade books. During this workshop participants will learn how to create by hand a hard covered book with an exposed spine using French Link Stitch.

Participants will be guided through the necessary tools, materials and core techniques including folding, sewing and gluing.

On completion of the workshop participants will leave with their handmade books together with step-by-step instructions to help them make more at home using minimal equipment.

This is an introductory course for beginners and no previous experience is necessary. Those with an understanding of basic bookbinding techniques can use the workshop to refresh their skills and gain tutor advice and guidance.
