About the Course

Weave a small but very useful gathering frame basket. So named because of it’s use of preformed circular frames which students will spend the morning lashing together to form a handle and top rim: then bending and inserting ribs into these lashings to make a 3D vessel. Weaving with fine natural coloured Willows and soft Rushes playing with texture, colour and contrasting stripes will be the focus of the afternoon. Basketmaker Karen Lawrence will teach students how to make cord and various plaits with the Rush as she guides you through the construction of your basket. Beginners & Improvers.
