Michael Potter set up Atelier Art and Eye Photo to help inspire clients interested in understanding how creative they could be with either photography or drawing and painting techniques.
Having had a successful international career working with top interior designers, corporate and private clients, Michael has a lifetime of practical experience to pass on.
A very focused tuition style that helps you make your own image by painting, drawing or taking a photograph of your own - or to use one of ours from a wide selection of fabulous images - and learn how to handprint, prepare paper and hand finish and frame from one of our mouldings to 14 x 12 inches, to create a very special artistic statement.
DAY ONE - Attend an exhibition in central London to discuss what we understand about what we are seeing as this forms the basis of how we approach the practical session. A light lunch out and a sketch session in the afternoon at the members only Chelsea Art's club.
DAY TWO - meet at the home studio in West London to interpret the thoughts of day one into paint, ink or mixed media on paper.
Then after a light lunch scan, edit and print from the original onto art paper before being taught how to prepare your own frame to take away with you.

“I came into this workshop with absolutely zero artistic talent. Michael made it so interesting, educational and most importantly, fun. He explained every step in detail and it was so enjoyable and relaxing that I did not want it to end. The bonus is that the finished product is now hanging in my home to appreciate every day. Loved it!!!
And thanks so much so for putting together the abstract art class: it was brilliantly conceived ‘from soup to nuts’ and a truly rewarding journey of discovery. Time flew...
I particularly loved the way you introduced us to the idea of abstraction, showed us a little paint application technique but then let us go where our imagination took us. And the framing and embossing was a great touch. Not only did it give us an additional way of looking at what we had created and how it could be seen but also a keepsake to take home and ponder on from time to time.
