About the Course
I am a professional working artist who exhibits in galleries and also teaches twice a week.
Lessons are either on a Thursday or a Friday.
I teach up to 8 people in a class of all levels. Each person chooses which area they would like to develop-whether its learning to draw with accuracy or learning to use oils. I cater for each individual. My students choose what they want to paint and draw. Some choose to paint portraits from references and others from a still life set up. I help with the process from start to finish and as they are small classes, each person gets lots of help and feedback.
I follow the local school term times and each lesson is 2 hours & 20 minutes long which works out £15 per lesson. I charge half termly, so it depends how long a term is but usually between 7-9 weeks.
e.g. 8 lessons=£120.
Lessons are held in my studio, tea and coffee provided. Materials are not included. Thank you, Helen.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
I have been going to Helen's classes for about seven years. When I first started I felt I would never be able to paint a portrait of someone. Helen has guided me and made me look more carefully at what I am going to paint, measuring and examining negative spaces. I now have accomplished several portraits that I can feel pleased about. I feel my painting has improved dramatically overall with Helen's tuition and I enjoy meeting other artists at her class.
