About the Course

Learn techniques of appliqué, explore colour and pattern, and create a beautiful textile collage.

Who is this course for
No previous experience or skills are required. Students from a variety of backgrounds and creative abilities would be suitable for this course. They should be interested and inspired by learning the technique of appliqué to create beautiful design and patterns in materials and stitch.

What does this course cover
Students will learn the textile craft of appliqué. They will develop design ideas considering pattern,
colour and texture creating a collage which can be stitched into. Both hand and machine

bits and bobs.

By the end of the course students should be able to:
- Develop basic design ideas for appliqué textiles.
- Demonstrate a variety of embroidery stitches.
- Understand the importance of the use of colour and pattern in textiles.
- Be inventive and see the potential of found materials for appliqué.
