The aim of this course is to give you creative control over your DSLR camera. During this online plus course, you will learn a variety of skills that will enable you to use the different modes and functions of your camera effectively and control the light to achieve creative photographs.
You will cover the basics of photography techniques in terms of shutter speed, aperture, ISO and focussing, as well as lenses and composition. You will acquire a practical understanding of how to apply these techniques in different situations and achieve the intended photographs. As part of the course, you will also be introduced to a number of established photographers and will analyse composition and light. Between sessions the course tutor will set you a task, so as to practice the learnt skills.
You will discuss your photographs and get feedback from the tutor and peers. At the end of the course you will have the confidence to take well-exposed photographs using your camera’s manual mode.
Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.
You will learn actively and will practice the demonstrated skills during the sessions and will be supported by the tutor. All course materials (background notes, handouts, youtube videos, etc.) will be available online and accessible via our Virtual Learning Environment, Moodle that you will have 24-7 access.
As this is an online plus course, half of the sessions will be delivered in Chelsea Centre with social distancing, while the rest of them will be delivered online, using Microsoft Teams. You will therefore need to be able to travel to the Chelsea Centre in London for part of this course.
