About the Course
Join us for a fascinating day of felting and head home with two completed items!
Felt is the oldest form of fabric. It consists of layers of fibre that have been agitated and compressed until the fibres lock together forming a mat. The fibre used to create this versatile fabric is an animal's fleece and what finer animal than the Alpaca! Alpacas are fascinating inquisitive and intelligent creatures that create the most wonderful fleece.
At this workshop you will gain an understanding of the process that is undertaken to prepare a raw fleece to create high quality garments and accessories - and then the fun begins! You will learn the basics of felting, experimenting with techniques and exploring the use of colour, creating a scarf in the morning and then, with your newly found skills, making a bag, an iPad cover or something of a similar size in the afternoon.
This workshop is perfect for beginners and is quite simply a fun-filled creative day.
