Discover honey under all its aspects in this unique tasting and pairing experience with a tasting kit delivered straight to your door.
Honey was already used as a culinary sweetener in Ancient Egypt. Honey, like wine and olive oil, was stored in clay amphorae and carefully labeled with information about its date and location of its production. Honey was often placed in the tombs of pharaohs with other sacred food that was believed to be needed in the afterlife. Honey is still today part of our kitchen essentials but has become somewhat overlooked and taken for granted. In her short lifetime that lasts only a few weeks, a honey bee will visit millions of flowers to only produce half a teaspoon of honey.
This 2h30 workshop is celebrating honey under all its wonderful aspects. You will discover all the factors that define the terroir of honey from the production by the honeybee colony to the jar on your kitchen shelf. You will be guided throughout the complexity of aromas, colours, and flavour profiles of a carefully selected range of honey.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
