About the Course
This two half-day resin course, split over a weekend, will give you the chance to make a whole range of gorgeous pieces: necklaces, pendants, earrings, keyrings, cufflinks, bracelets and even candle holders. With the run up to Christmas it is the ideal way to create unique and personalised Christmas gifts.
Resin is an excellent medium which allows you to design bespoke jewellery, giving it special unique touches in vibrant colours and embedded items. The course also has a special theme of African Fabrics which will be made available to you to use for detail in pendants and embed in the resin. We will also be using mica powder, gold leaf, beads and much more.
Resin is a form of plastic and is a fantastic material to work with as it is so versatile. It comes in liquid form and this can be poured into moulds.
Techniques that will be covered include:
• Measure, mix and add colour to your resin
• Colouring pigment with natural mica powder
• Designing pieces to make in resin
• Adding insertions such as glitter, charms, African fabric and other objects
• Making finished pieces of jewellery
Please note that this class runs for two consecutive days. The first day is for creating and the second day is for finishing after the resin has dried. On the Saturday the course willl run from 1.30 p.m. until 5.30 p.m. and on the Sunday it will run from 3 p.m. until 5.30 p.m. It takes the resin about 20 hours to set.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
