Course Start DatesFriday 20th March 2020
About the Course
We offer two options for our advanced sketching workshop with artist Mark Kirkham, known locally as The Edinburgh Sketcher.
Option One: Georgian Landscapes
While walking around our local Georgian streets and lanes, focusing on two illustrations, you will learn how to use composition and perspective to draw the eye into your painting.
Option Two: People and Crowds
In this workshop you will capture both crowds on the streets of Edinburgh, and also close up portraits from within the famous Scottish Portrait Gallery.
Using ink and watercolour, and under the close guidance of Mark Kirkham, the Edinburgh Sketcher, you will finish and mount two A4 pieces.
Places are limited to eight or under on these more advanced sketching workshops in order to provide more one-to-one tuition.
This workshop is suitable for anyone who has attended one of Mark's Introduction to speed-sketching workhops, or has previous experience of sketching. If you are unsure whether it is suitable for you, please email us before booking.
Please note that our workshop space is based on the first floor of a Georgian mews house and unfortunately we do not have lift access.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All equipment and materials are provided, plus a hot drink served with cake or biscuits. You will also take home all the sketches you complete including your two mounted sketches.
