About the Course
For the passionate artist that wishes to develop their observational and applied techniques, advanced figure drawing will utilize a classical approach to the figure informing the drawing through an understanding of anatomy and use of tools. We will start with quick studies and then focus on a long pose.
You are welcome to bring any drawing materials you enjoy using, or bring the supplies listed below.
Suitable for intermediate and advanced students.
Sketch pad with perforated edge, for easy removal, 18 x 24
Newsprint sketch pad, 18 x 24
Pencils : 8B, 6B, 5B,4B, 3B, 2B, HB, 2H, 4H ( Staedtler, Faber-Castell, Derwent are all good brands).
Putty eraser and regular eraser
Some kind of drawing board/board and clips. I really like just using thick foam board with clips ~ nice surface and light.
Charcoal, vines and blocks.
Miscellaneous (but useful to have):
PORTFOLIO to accommodate 19 x 25” drawings
(Cardboard secured together w/duct tape and clips would suffice.)
