About the Course

Workshop at King Street Studios by David Stanley

During this workshop participants will explore a variety of techniques using acrylic paint following a short presentation by the artist. He will provide one-to-one guidance as the workshop progresses.
Themes will consider the nature of acrylic paint and the properties of different colours.
Techniques employed will include various methods of mark making with brushes, spreaders and scrapers along with the traditional methods of glazing and scumbling.

While no claims are being made that those taking part will leave with completed works of art they will leave with skills that will aid making paintings in the future.

Due to the nature of acrylic paint and some of the methods used it could get messy so good clothes should be left at home.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

Some paints and paper will be supplied but it will be beneficial if participants can bring some of their own. This will be far from an exercise in the frugal use of materials. Similarly it would be appreciated if you can bring rags, pieces of card for spreaders, absorbent kitchen rolls and kitchen sponge/scourers for some techniques.
