About the Course

Have you ever been tempted to try painting in acrylics but not sure where to start? Are you struggling to get the best out of your acrylic paints or do you want to explore a more varied approach to using them?

Acrylics for beginners is a structured 2 day course, guiding you through techniques and teaching you the best practice for using this exciting and versatile medium. From mixing colours to paint application and mark making, well-known tutor Tom Shepherd will introduce you to the many approaches of using acrylics.

You will be looking specifically at:

The different types of acrylic paint

Paint and colour mixing

The different surfaces you can work on

Gesture and mark-making

How to approach a painting, from the initial drawing, blocking in and finishing details

Participants can expect to leave with at least one finished painting, with potential for many more. Students will develop a deeper understanding and practical knowledge of how to use acrylic paint.
