Abstracting still-life in oils



Course suits: Those with experience of oil paints with an interest in still-life painting who wish to paint in a less conventional style.

Objectives: To take your still-life painting in a different direction or teach you still-life from a different perspective.

This class takes the student through the first principles of abstraction of a still life, including colour planning, composition and lighting. It will focus on direct methods of oil paint application and will also make reference to empirical sources for future reference.

Level: For those already familiar with oil painting.
Hours: 10 am - 4.30 pm
