Thoroughly enjoyed the day . Gained an understanding of how colours, patterns and texture work with each other. Was really looking forward to learning about mood boards but unfortunately this was barely covered, possibly due to lack of time. Really enjoyed Lucy’s style of teaching and the company of the other ladies on the workshop . The food and the surroundings were excellent - left the workshop feeling truly inspired!

How the basics at art classes at school should have been! I learnt more about colour in one morning than hours in a classroom in the 70s. Lucy has an incredibly easy, approachable and informative style which means every part of her sessions are full of learning and ease. She offers excellent one to one support but the benefits of being with the fellow students are considerable - from hearing projects they have done or plan, to gaining confidence on what can be achieved.

An excellent day of learning how to properly set out both floor and elevation plans and build them flexibly to test out
ideas and layouts. Tuition was very hands on.
I also benefited from working alongside other class attendees, hearing and seeing their ideas on both mine and their own layouts.

This is the second workshop I have attended run by Lucy. It was another interesting day during which I learnt a lot as well as picking up extra hints and tips from Lucy.
I enjoyed the day and will put into practice what I learnt as I redecorate my home.
Lucy is really helpful and puts you at ease so you feel able to ask questions and seek advice. Well worth attending.

This workshop was amazing. Thank you Lucy for a relaxing and informative day. I gained so much in one day, learning about colour wheel, mood board, colour schemes, pattern and texture. Lucy was an excellent host and the lunch along with the delicious home bread and cakes was a treat.
A lovely day wth lovely people. I would highly recommend this course.

Really enjoyed the workshop with Lucy and the other ladies. I learned so much and felt inspired to go out and be more creative. I particularly liked the practical elements where we had a go at mixing colours and coming up with schemes. A very lovely day with delicious cake and lunch! Definitely recommended.

Enjoyed a fabulous day with Lucy. I learnt a huge amount, had great fun and feel inspired!
The day was relaxed, but we covered a lot and the practical exercises really helped me to understand the concepts we covered. It was nice working in a group and sharing ideas with each other.
Lucy is a great teacher and host, providing delicious cakes, lunch and a warm welcome! I'm looking forward to doing further courses with her.

I really enjoyed this course. We researched the work of a few designers and really liked Lucy's work and the number of participants on the day meant that we had a good interaction with Lucy.
The setting was delightful and Lucy was happy to show us her home which meant we saw some very inspiring ideas.
I am used to doing the design and building work and then abdicating all responsibility for the interiors to my wife.
I now feel more informed and have started a journey of learning about colour and pattern along with the use and layout of spaces.
My wife and I will work together to develop our home and I will be happier to be more involved in what I have always seen as difficult decisions. Having attended this course we will almost certainly be considering more adventurous interior schemes than we might have been scared of before.
I also occasionally draw up plans for people and believe that I can add value to my work with some of the work that Lucy showed us in this introductory workshop.

This was a brilliant day which I know my husband and I will continue to use and reflect upon. I researched several similar courses and opted for Lucy's as she has small groups (ours was great fun) and I liked what she wrote about the day. We were not disappointed and were really pleased to have attended together: we learned about colour theory and used paints to test out our understanding; we considered colour and texture, height and layering; and we had plenty of groupwork and practical activities to ensure we understood what Lucy had taught us.
The result of just this one day is that we look at colour with a greater understanding of its role, and we feel able to plan our colours with more confidence as we decorate our extension and renovations. We were able to discuss some of our ideas and questions with Lucy and were helped with fantastic suggestions and ideas that we want to use as soon as the building work is done!
Lovely food, engaging and warm teaching, a beautiful location and a great group all contributed to a memorable day.

I attended a 1-2-1 session with Lucy about 2 weeks ago. I couldn't have asked for a better day. My aim was to get an understanding of interior design as a novice to develop a training package for the company I work for. Lucy was fantastic from start to finish, she asked exactly what my needs were and what I wanted to achieve form the day. This was completely bespoke and tailored to what I needed. When I arrived I was greeted with coffee and cake, we then went through the agenda of the day. Ate a fabulous lunch made by Lucy and again more coffee and cake before heading to the to the decorating centre which really helped put everything I had learnt into practice. The majority of the day was learning about colour and how to use it which was great as that was exactly what I had stated I needed.
Highly recommend the course, Lucy was amazing, down to earth and ,made me feel very welcome. The day exceeded my expectations.

What a fantastic course. Although only 1 day , I feel like I learned so much. Colour wheel ordered and mood board already in the pipeline. This is a great course to kick start you into being more creative and having the confidence to design your own, instead of Next or John Lewis's help!
Lucy is a excellent communicator , and made sure she spoke to each one while doing the pratical.
I would recommend this course to all wishing to learn more about interior design.
Beautiful setting, lovely people and plenty of cake- what more do you need 😀

A complete novice here to Interior Design and thoroughly enjoyed my day, it was excellent.
I will look at fabrics, colours, textures etc. in a totally whole new light, after attending the taster. Lucy, is very informative, and a lovely host & tutor, offering tips and assistance on the tasks.
I found it all quite inspiring, so much so that on my return home ordered my colour wheel, interior design book and upholstery kit. As, I attended Lucy's one day Upholstery course, last month which was interesting, fun and I learnt a lot. Lunch & cakes on both days, was delicious in a lovely setting of Derbyshire. I would definitely recommend a course with Lucy's.

Absolutely loved the one day interior workshop. I feel as if I have come away with so much information . When I got home straight away I ordered a colour wheel . Putting different textures together and patterns really opened my eyes to what can work in a room. Lucy was really lovely and explained everything so well so it's was easy to understand. And the lunch and cakes were amazing . Would definitely do another day .

A great day with Lucy. Informative and practical learning. Time to practice mixing paints to achieve the desired colours and matching fabrics. Along with great tips. Lucy helps you find your own style and enhance it. Would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to avoid making costly mistakes when self styling your home. Thank you Lucy

I've now attended 2 Interior Design days with Lucy and the same group of ladies. We all enjoyed the first day so much and wanted to learn more, so we booked a second day. We're also hoping to book a third day in 2018.
We've covered the basic principles of interior design (a mix of theory and practical tasks) and had the opportunity to discuss our own ideas and projects along the way - these days are really inspiring and have helped me with my own projects at home.
Lucy is an excellent host - I love the informal, relaxed atmosphere for learning and the home made food and drinks throughout the day are fantastic!
I would highly recommend these courses.

Another brilliant course yet again!
We did a part 2 interior design with the same ladies as in part one. This covered the scale drawing, lighting and flooring.
The food was delicious as usual and the cakes in plentiful supply. Do not attempt to come if you are on a diet it will not work!
Our tutor Lucy was a wonderful host, lots of great information hints and tips.
These courses are highly recommended.
Look forward to part three instalment in 2018

Cant praise Lucy enough for a great and informative day. Learned so much about my own style and how to achieve the look I want in my new home.
Don't be put off by mention of Lucys love of colour _ am pretty conservative but she was able to help me inject some colour into my very traditional room.
sarah jane - - #10526
An excellent day. As a complete novice I learned a huge amount in a warm, supportive and inspiring environment? Excellent value for money, the day will help me avoid costly decor disasters going forward and helped me revive my creative streak!
Katie Smith - - #10467
I can highly recommend this one day course. Lucy was a fantastic host who provided a lovely lunch while sitting in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales. I learnt so much from the course and meant some really nice people. It has given me confidence that I needed. Once again thanks you so much Lucy.

Amazing day. Lots of great ideas and inspiration given in a short space of time. A very relaxed and pleasurable day given by a great tutor. The cake and soup was also very good !
Lisa B - - #8921
I thoroughly enjoyed my day on this course with Lucy. Learning about colour schemes, patterns and textures and how to put this all together was very informative. I now have the courage and some basic principles to apply to my interior design project. We were also treated to an amazing lunch and cakes.
I am really looking forward to joining you on another one of your courses.
Thank you Lucy.
Jo Ross - - #8587
Excellent course with Lucy as always. Previous courses I have attended with Lucy have involved making or adapting things whereas this course was more theoretical although Lucy does include some practical tasks. I really enjoyed the day, learned a lot and it gave me a really good foundation in the principles of interior design, tips and 'rules' but with allowance for personal style and creativity. Lucy is always fantastically welcoming and generous with her knowledge, resources and of course food and drink! Highly recommended.
Sally Newton - - #8585
This workshop was amazing !
I learnt so much from lucy in just one day ... having the skills and wisdom of lucy there but also being able to actually do the steps myself was hugely rewarding. I still can't believe how much I learnt in such a short space of time ..... oh and the cakes are pretty amazing too !
I would highly recommend anyone to enjoy this fabulous experience.
Jeni Stroud - - #6602
An amazing day, so relaxing and informative in a beautiful setting. Lucy is brilliant!
Sharon Davis - - #4794
I'm a complete novice at the theory behind interior design but Lucy put me at ease and was very approachable.
Although a more theoretical workshop it still had a large element of "hands on" tasks which I found helped my understanding. I found the colour and pattern matching topics particularly useful.
The homemade cakes and delicious lunch also helped make the day feel like a real treat!
Now I just need to get myself a colour wheel and get cracking on a mood board for the dining room!
