About the Course
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn with Tel Turnbull, one of the foremost potters in the East of England, in the beautiful setting of the Grange barns. You will have a chance to throw on traditional momentum wheels in the morning and learn techniques of hand-building in the afternoon.
The course will also include an introduction to 'coiling' as practised by the Bell Beaker people (2900 - 1800BC) who inhabited Europe from the late Neolithic into the early Bronze Age.
Tel has been practising and teaching pottery for more than 40 years. He is passionate about the philosophy and beauty of medieval pottery shapes and techniques.
The Grange is former rectory in Great Cressingham, which has been transformed over the last 5 years into a centre for permaculture and resilience. All profits of this course will go towards offering further opportunities to marginalised groups coming to the Grange.
There are only 3 places to ensure you get the best possible experience, so book quickly!
Please note: we like to offer a sliding scale for prices of our courses, the range for this one is £95 - £125. Any contributions in the higher bracket will help enable us to continue supporting the work we do with marginalised groups.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. The voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
