About the Course
The Tower Street Print Project is a community arts organisation that has been teaching printmaking in the heart of Ipswich and at venues across Suffolk and Norfolk since 2015. We are passionate about printmaking and love getting people to have a go, as once they try printmaking they are usually keen to continue. This year, in the run up to Christmas, we are delighted to deliver a special Day of Printmaking at the lovely Bridge Farm Workshops in the picturesque village of Brandeston, near Woodbridge.
The day starts at 10 am and runs to 4 pm with a break for lunch. We will cover three printmaking techniques, Mono-printing, Drypoint Etching and Linocutting in a relaxed and friendly workshop, so you will come away with a really good insight in to printmaking. We approach teaching in a 'hands-on' way as we think 'doing' rather than 'talking about it' is the most effective way to learn, so you will get lots of one-to-one tuition and time to practice your technique, during your session with us.
Don't worry if you think you can't draw or haven't done anything arty for a while as we have designed our workshop to not only give you an insight into these exciting and rewarding printmaking methods but to give you confidence in your own creativity.
At the end of the day you will go home with original work that you have designed and printed yourself and a sense of satisfaction at what you have learned in just a few hours.
This special festive workshop is suitable for complete beginners as we will explain the processes and show everyone how to use the tools and equipment provided. However, it will also be a great way to revisit and revive rusty skills as we will work with you to your level and ability, so if you have a bit of experience you can complete more complex designs.
Bridge Farm Workshops are located in the beautiful Suffolk countryside in Brandeston, close to Woodbridge and Framlingham. There is plenty of parking and local pubs nearby which serve food but we suggest you bring something with you for your lunch.
This workshop is delivered by an experienced tutor and printmaker who has the ability to help everyone feel at home with printmaking and produce a vibrant piece of work. We will keep the class size to a comfortable number and are happy to have groups of friends or families who want to spend some time together doing an activity that they can share. Young people over the age of 14 years are welcome if they come with an adult.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
