About the Course

A Christmas Crafternoon; Charity Event for Mind.

Come join us and get festive with creative crafts, bring family and friends along and make a day of it by staying for afternoon tea too. The centre will be welcoming you from 11am until 2pm, you are welcome to drop-in between this time or stay for the full duration if you really want to get stuck in! We will be demonstrating the various crafts on offer at the centre in order to promote positive mental health and well-being, all while raising money for Mind.

These demonstrations will include glass, needle felting and jewellery techniques, among many others! You can even try them out for yourself and have a go making something to take home, perhaps some extra festive decorations, give them as gifts (or keep them for yourself, we won't tell!).

We will have crafts suitable for kids too, where they can decorate some Christmas cards or make some decorations of their own for the tree.

Why not get involved and join in on our very own 'Great Festive Bake Off', where people are invited to bring in their homemade goods (sweet or savoury) which will then be tasted and voted for by the public to determine our 'Festive Star Baker'.

We will also be providing an afternoon tea, with a selection of festive treats and beverages for you to enjoy so that you can make the most of your crafting afternoon and relax. You can even decorate your own cupcakes!

We hope you can join us!

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty free parking around the back of the community centre. If taking the bus, the Arriva Number 7, Durham to Darlington (and vice versa) stops in Croxdale with a 2 minute walk to the centre.

Is there any age restrictions on activities?

Yes, due to the materials and tools used for some activities, such as the glass, needle felting and jewellery, we would advise that these are suitable for anyone over 18. We do however, offer other crafts that are suitable for children to participate in, we only ask that they remain supervised at all times.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, just bring yourself and invite friends and family along to join in the fun!

Is it free?

Yes, the event is free to attend and participate in. We only ask that you can make a donation to support Mind in all the fantastic work that they do.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

Everything is included, materials, craft demonstrations and food and beverages. We only ask for a donation to support our charity, Mind for Better Mental Health.
