About the Course

Caroline Nixon is renowned for pushing the boundaries and developing new techniques. Join her on this intensive 5 day course, suitable for experienced ecoprinters, designed to take your practice to the next level.

During this immersive 5 day course you will:

· Refine your bundling technique to enhance crispness and clarity of prints

· Use a variety of mordants for both protein and cellulose fabrics

· Combine ecoprint with natural dye, tannins and indigo

· Enhance your understanding of discharging with leaves

· Explore shibori effects to enhance your backgrounds

· Combine and layer these techniques to produce complex patterned cloth

This course is for experienced ecoprinters, who are already able to produce clear prints and who have a basic understanding of mordants.

Using vegetation from the beautiful gardens at Claydon Estate, you will work on a variety of fabrics. Commencing with sampling and experimentation, you will progress to producing scarves, upcycled garments and yardage. Individual projects will be encouraged and supported. Your course fee includes entry to the gardens throughout the duration of the course.

Take your ecoprinting to a new level!
