About the Course
Join Adela on a 4 hour mosaic workshop in her friendly mosaic studio (Extended from previous 3 hour workshop.) Ideal for beginners, you will make an indoor mosaic from vitreous tiles. Adela will introduce you to cutting techniques and various ways of laying your tiles to achieve shapes and patterns on your chosen ply or mdf shape. You will learn about the properties of various bases and adhesives and be shown examples of mosaics to inspire you. Adela has put together a worksheet to work through and take home showing examples of cutting techniques alongside grouting instructions and resources. You will be given a full grouting demonstration and have the choice to grout your finished piece at home with grout provided or to leave the piece to be grouted by Adela and collected / posted at later date.
I do require a £10 deposit to secure a place.

I was given vouchers for this Mosaic workshop as a birthday present and I really enjoyed it! Very informative about designs and different patterns you can achieve. Lots of nice colours to choose from too!

It was a really nice chilled out session with coffee and biscuits too :)
Really good intro into mosaic, felt I learned quite a bit about the techniques involved too. Would be nice to use the materials for outdoor work next and see the similarities/differences.
A nice selection of tiles (lots of glitter!) and Adela even searched out a few extra bits when I asked for ideas/help which was really nice.

I really enjoyed the course and nearly finished my piece , ready to grout at home. I was interested in learning about different styles and techniques and used most of them in my first attempt.
I would like to try using recycled China pieces I have,so I may attend another course soon!
Carolyn Whalley - - #16355

My sister and myself had the most fantastic time taking part in your workshop at the weekend. We were both empowered and inspired to try to make our own projects following the excellent and patient instruction. I struggle with the creative side of crafts but when tentatively mentioning what I was thinking of making, Adela knew where exactly where to look for inspiration which helped me achieve a piece I am really pleased with. I would highly recommend this course and we certainly will be signing up for the outdoor workshop later in the summer.

Thank you Adela

Excellent way to learn in a small group in relaxed environment. Starting with the basics of tile shapes, by the end of the session you walk away with a mosaic. Hardest bit of the class is deciding what to make and which colours to work with. Loved it !
Tina - - #14215
A most enjoyable and informative course, I learnt so much.
Highly recommended !

As a beginner I learnt so much on this course. Adela was very welcoming and put me at ease. An excellent teacher who shared her expertise. There was a lot of information in the hand-out, as well as shown and explained throughout the class. We had a huge variety of materials to choose from to make our pieces and equipment was provided for us to use. A wonderful class and an inspiration to do more. Thank you.
Lesley Coles - - #13873
This course was just so much fun. We learnt a lot about techniques, materials ideas and Adela, as a self-taught mosaic artist, shares all the hints and tips that she has learnt on the way. Her work is absolutely stunning - so there’s hope for us all. She is generous with materials, information, ideas and tea and biscuits 🙂. It was a great taster session and inspires you to go and do more. One thing I’d advise you to do - have an idea for a design (to fit anything up to about 6x4 inch area) before you come. Templates of various shapes are supplied including squares that would make great little wall plaques / teapot stands etc. There are about 7 in a group and it was friendly and inspiring.

I enjoyed a 1:1 course with Adela. I learned so much and was inspired by her own work on display throughout the gallery and shop. I brought home a lovely mosaic mirror and
I hope to return soon to do further courses.

Always drooled at Pinterests Mosaics so thought I would give this 3hr course ago. Adela is friendly and enthusiastic and wanting to share her knowledge with you. Made it easy and good fun. A good relaxing atmosphere. Totally well worth £30 and you even come away with your first venture!

Adela really knows her stuff and is passionate about mosaic. Adela led us through the process of basic techniques (initially Blue Peter came to mind!) through to a finished piece in a informal and knowledgeable way. I highly recommend this course as a first step to mosaic making or just as a fun way to spend time creating.

I attended this workshop with my 12 year old grandson. Adela is an excellent tutor, very knowledgable and inspiring. We both really enjoyed our time and learned a lot about the techniques and design process. The time whizzed by, as we were so engrosed in creating our pieces. I thoroughly recommend this workshop.
Jo Holburn - - #10152
What a lovely way to spend an afternoon, just like a child in a sweet shop, with a large range of tiles and bits and bobs( shiny things) to put on your mosaic. Very relaxed atmosphere. You get choice of different shapes boards for you to mosaic, although I had decided before I went I wanted to do a door number, she was able to give me some weather proof board, so pleased with the result. I would recommend this short course to anyone, if like me you just want to take a bit of time out or maybe you want to take it up as a new hobby.
Lorraine - - #10063
