About the Course
Our 2 and 3 day courses are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with more experience who would like to learn new techniques or simple brush up on existing skills. The 2 and 3 day courses have a maximum capacity of 8 students and are taught by award winning jewellery designers Jesa & Al Marshall offering a fantastic student teacher ratio.
These weekends are designed to be as flexible as possible, allowing you to (with help!) create your own designs and work on your own project at your own pace. We don’t tell you what you have to make, within time limits you are free to make whatever you like and will be guided through the techniques as you go! As these courses are 2 or 3 days long you will have time to cover the basic techniques as well as experimenting with some of the more advanced techniques such as stone setting, acid etching, casting….its endless!!!
The days run from 10am - 5pm and include a well earned lunch!! :)
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. The voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
A well deserved veggie lunch and endless cups of tea and coffee!!
A great course with Jesa & Al who have the patience and the know how to help everyone whatever they are creating. Working at your own pace and on your own piece(s) you learn from them and from the rest of the group.
I have looked for a while for a course as flexible as this and I'm so pleased that I found them.
There were 8 of us on the course and 6 were returning having been before and wanting more. I don't blame them - I've already booked another course for next year.
I started with very little experience and left feeling inspired to try more.
Thanks for a brilliant 3 days.

I would thoroughly recommend Flux n Flame to anyone. I attended the 3-day course over the Aug bank holiday weekend and absolutely loved it! I feel very lucky to have found such a great course, brilliant workshop venue and tuition that is in my opinion, second to none, from Jesa and Ali. To spend time with, and learn from, two people who are truly passionate about their craft, is a joy in itself. I did just one day in May with one of their tutors, the lovely Heidi, and after making 3 silver rings, I was hooked! The group of people each time were lovely, friendly, helpful and it's inspiring to see what others have achieved. Lunch was fab, teas and coffees were flowing when needed, and 'cake and biscuits' were close by for those moments when my inspiration was ebbing! If you're wavering, don't - just book it. You won't be disappointed!

I cannot recommend Flux'n'flame highly enough. The 3 days far exceeded my expectations and I came away with an amazing pair of silver earrings and a necklace at the end. Jesa & Al are brilliant teachers who help you make what you want to and encourage creative ideas and forming them into jewellery. You can work at your own pace on your project/s with help as and when you need it, learning new techniques and skills as you go along. The atmosphere in the classroom is great, I feared as a newcomer it would be intimidating, but we were soon having fun as a group and all creating awesome things. I will definitely be back - this school is refreshingly innovative in it's approach which I think is down to the personalities and vision of the owners/teachers who obviously want to share their passion. I for one am converted! Thank you Flux'n'flame for a brilliant time x
