Learn how to use wool like paint to create a beautiful, textured, felted picture.
After the success of her courses in 2019, Bridget returns to The Studio in 2020 with a new and advanced course.
Working from an inspirational image, Bridget will teach and guide you through the range of processes and techniques needed to create your own, unique, felted picture.
As well as recapping the techniques for building your picture, using a combination of pre felting, dry felting and wet felting techniques, you will spend time really exploring how to manipulate the fibres to get the effects you want.
The latter part of the course will focus on the detailed work, with a combination of dry felting and needle felting techniques. The additional day will provide further time for needle felting guidance and to work on the fine detailing of the pictures.
You will learn a variety of skills and, with Bridget’s guidance, have the confidence to manipulate and choose the techniques your picture needs to bring it to life.
The small class size means there will be plenty of time for individual attention and coaching. This workshop is suitable for confident beginners and those with prior felting experience.
By the end of the course, you will have produced a beautiful felt picture, approximately A3 in size, and you will leave with the knowledge and skills to carry on independently.
What to bring:
An inspirational image to work from.
There will be an additional £10 material fee payable, in cash, to the tutor at the start of the course.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Tea, Coffee, biscuits and cold refreshments will be available throughout the day.
Lunch is not provided although The Phoenix Kitchen, just next door, provide an array of meals, light lunches and snacks. Alternatively, there is a fridge and microwave in the studio kitchen for you to use if you prefer to bring your own lunch.

My second weekend with Bridget and it was brilliant. Bridget is a very patient tutor and wants you to learn. She is generous with her knowledge and skills. I have come away with so many more techniques that have added to the ones I learnt last time and feel confident to try to paint a wool picture on my own. Thanks for your encouragement and support Bridget.
