About the Course

We will use needle felting skills to explore fibres and needles to create our own needle felted pictures. There is nothing better than painting with wool as you are able to easily move wool colours and try different blends and shades. If you have an image or 2 you would like to bring with you please do but we will also have a selection here to explore.

You could also bring a selection of ribbons or beads to add embellishments to your work which we will look at adding in the afternoon by hand sewing them into place.

Mini pictures on 12th May

Japanese Pictures on 18th May

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

All wool and needles are provided but you may wish to bring embellishments to use on the day. We also sell a wide variety of fibres and felting pieces of equipment.

We provide tea, coffee and cold drinks during the day. If you have a need to bring other milk please do so.

You will need to bring your own packed lunch but we ask for no seafood due to my allergy.

Excellent workshop, highly recommend.
We were taught and supported through the processes of needle felting, wet felting and embellishing of our projects including machine embroidery. We each produced amazingly unique pictures and it was great to watch each other’s develop. The atmosphere is very friendly, relaxed and supportive with plenty of one to one support available when required. Rachel is an excellent knowledgable teacher and mentor and I will definitely be returning for further workshops hosted by Rachel

Thank you so much Anne,

It was a fabulous course to run and so inspiring to see such a variety of styles and images come from the workshop. The bravery of those attending to try new things and pinch ideas from each other was fabulous and enabled everyone to move forward confidently, even making major changes to pictures along the way!

I hope to see you soon on the new workshops coming out soon
Rach

I really enjoyed this learning experience, it was a lovely friendly group with loads of help, tea/coffee and biscuits. There were plenty of products for us to choose from for our projects and if we wanted to buy anything so we could make more at home again there was plenty of choice. Rachel had plenty of examples of felting work to help give us ideas for our own project and demonstrated the techniques needed.

Thank you Vanessa, it was a total pleasure! It hasbeen a fabulous 3 days and lots of laughter and cake as well! Hope to see you again soon

The venue was lovely, a brilliant space to work with all essential facilities very close by. There was a friendly welcome upon arrival, I was given a seat and told there were lots of pairs so the seating had been planned in advance, a very good idea so those together could sit together. The class was informal and very interesting, all materials were included in the price, with a small shop for those who wanted to purchase items to use at home. I was amazed at what you can produce with felt, there was lots of examples and inspiration. Every one made something brilliant with expert advice given in a very friendly way. An excellent class with lovely people, I will definitely attend further classes and would highly recommend to others

Thank you so much for such a lovely review. It was a total pleasure and I loved the idea of placing a photo on the finished piece set in to the flowers. Thank you also for recommending us to others as word of mouth is the best review we can have.

We look forward to seeing you in March!
